ART316 The Secret Garden Modernized Classic Front Cover, Back Cover, Spine, and Interior Pages. For this project, we were asked to modernize a classic. For my process, I hand weaved vellum and a printed photo together to represent the “secret garden” hidden within the book’s setting. The hidden flowers were meant to act as a least obtrusive identifier, where the reader looks beyond surface to understand the deeper meaning and story of the book. I physically minded this piece, typesetting the interior pages within to further modernize the classic.
