Liturgy of the Ordinary Nonfiction Dust Jacket

ART316 Liturgy of the Ordinary Nonfiction Dust Cover. For this project, we selected a nonfiction book to create a dust jacket for a hard cover book. In the book, the author goes into depth on how to make everyday, “ordinary” tasks a liturgy to seek. To represent this, I used a plain, edited image of an unmade bed as the background image and placed textured dots overtop the image to contrast the mundane image. This serves as a time release element, where the reader will later understand the meaning of the cover. Through reading through the entirety of the book, readers have the opportunity to take part in making these various tasks a liturgy. The back cover shows a made bed with admirable endorsements laid overtop, representing the change in one’s habits through reading this book.
